La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, it may be a hard name to pronounce, but it's a joy to visit! The name comes from a cross made of Huanacaxtle wood which is located at the town's entrance. Locals often refer to it as simply "La Cruz", located 25 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta, 25 min south of Sayulita, and 18 min east of Punta Mita, this centrally located town offers a restful vacation with a glimpse of an authentic Mexican fishing village. Known for its rich cultural traditions, captivating colonial architecture, delicious and diverse culinary scene, and a thriving art community, La Cruz attracts a wide range of vacationers. Here you will have the opportunity to witness postcard worthy scenes such as the arrival of fishermen on the pier in their Panga boats loaded with a variety of fish. Life moves at a leisurely mañana pace, with small town charms and great local amenities.
